Trail Lessons

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Weather appropriate clothes, long pants, closed shoes that have a heel on them (boots if you’ve got them).

What happens if the weather is bad?

We will work with you to reschedule if we aren’t able to ride on the day that you’ve chosen.

What riders do you accept?

Anyone typically above the age of 5 and under 300lbs.

How much experience do I need to go on a ride?

None! We can teach you the basics and then learn more as we go. We can help you feel more comfortable, especially if its your first time.

How many people can go on the ride?

We can take 10 in total, if your party exceeds this number, please call for more information.

Arena Lessons

What type of clothing should be worn?

No loose-fitting clothes like scarves or baggy clothing.
Closed-toed shoes. Preferably with a smooth sole and a heel (boots if you’ve got them).

What ages do you teach?

We’ll typically work with people from the age of 5-100. Really, any age, if they can walk, we’ll see what we can do 🙂

What happens if there is bad weather?

Sometimes we ride anyway. If we’re going to cancel we’ll let you know as soon as possible depending on the season.
If paid in full – we will reschedule your lesson.

When should I arrive?

15 minutes before your ride time is perfect. Once you’re in the program we’ll coordinate based on the type of lessons that the student is participating in.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you cancel 24 hours prior to your lesson we can either refund you or reschedule. If you cancel the day if you will be required to pay for your lesson whether you attend or not.

It’s hard to put into words how much our experiences have meant at Innisfree Farm. We have become regular trail riders with Heather. It has been the best experience I’ve ever had on a horse. Heather’s skill for matching folks with the right horse and providing a safe adventurous ride is beyond impressive. It’s one of the best ways to experience Tennessee. We rode along rolling green hills, open fields, and even through creeks. This family farm truly makes you feel a sense of family in one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen with the very best people and horses.
