Help Protect Innisfree Farm

For more than 30 years, this farm has been a home, a livelihood, and a place where people come to learn, ride, heal, and reconnect. Now its future is uncertain.

More than a farm

A place our family has built—and shared—with others

Established in 1992, Innisfree Farm is a second-generation family-owned equestrian facility in the rolling hills of Tennessee’s Duck River Valley.

More than 30 horses call this farm home. Riders of many ages and experience levels come here for lessons, trail rides, training, boarding, and the simple peace that comes from spending time with horses.

This land supports our family, our animals, and a community that has grown around the farm over many years.

What we are facing

An uncertain future created by an eminent-domain project

For the past four years, our family has been involved in an eminent-domain matter connected to a water-pipeline project. The proposed work would affect our property, mature trees, and land that is essential to safely operating our horse farm.

Construction activity—including the possibility of blasting—could make it unsafe to keep and work with horses here for an extended period. The legal process may continue for a year or longer, while decisions affecting our land could happen much sooner.

We are working with legal counsel and independent professionals to document the full impact, protect our horses, and preserve our family’s rights.
Why we need help

A fair fight requires resources

We have already spent five figures trying to defend our farm. The next stages require legal representation, independent experts, discovery, hearings, and potentially a trial or appeal.

Funds raised will help with:

  • Legal representation and court proceedings
  • An independent appraisal of the farm
  • Arborist and expert-witness expenses
  • Discovery, hearings, and trial preparation
  • A possible appeal
  • Essential operating needs that keep our horses safe and cared for

We cannot promise what the outcome will be. We can promise that every contribution gives our family a better opportunity to protect the farm and care for the animals that depend on us.
